Tyler Thomas & Nick Stacey

The violations of the law and regulations for the industry did not become apparent to me regarding Tyler Thomas,
until I became the third person from whom they had stolen valuable exotic animals. Prior to the theft, I treated and thought of him as a friend. Once Tyler agreed to board my animals, he started plotting even before he took possession of them. He first asked me about my licensing which he knew he knew then the second question was even more suspicious. He asked me when the facility’s last veterinarian check was. He asked the first question to first find out what he would have to disprove in order to sound convincing to others once he started accusing me of not being properly licensed in the first place. The second question was to see if I would be able to get a veterinarian to say he or she had just seen animals prior to their transfer to his facility for boarding thus, he wanted to see what kind of proof I could get to counter any false future accusations against me. Of course, it’s his narcissism which voids much empathy he could have for other people. This explains how he can turn on someone in a dime and take the most precious things away from another person – even someone who trusted him as a friend. The exotic animal industry seems to have its share of “know-it-all”’s and people who automatically think they are special enough to be “in charge” of the rest of the licensees or at least give an air that they believe such. Thomas can be condescending and temperamental treating people any way he so chooses. This quality as well as his lack of empathy was apparent to me during a conversation he and I had via messaging regarding the seizure and euthanization of a pack of coyotes I had in rehabilitation. |
